There are a few ways to take a screenshot on a Mac:
- To take a screenshot of the entire screen, press Command + Shift + 3. The screenshot will be saved to your desktop as a .png file.
- To take a screenshot of a specific area of the screen, press Command + Shift + 4, then select the area you want to capture. The screenshot will be saved to your desktop as a .png file.
- To take a screenshot of a specific window, press Command + Shift + 4, then press the Spacebar. The cursor will change to a camera, allowing you to select the window you want to capture. The screenshot will be saved to your desktop as a .png file.
- To take a screenshot of a touch bar (if you have MacBook Pro with touch bar) press Command + Shift + 6
Once you’ve taken the screenshot, you can open it in an image editing program like Preview or Photoshop to make any adjustments or edits before saving it.
You can also use third-party software like Lightshot, Nimbus Screenshot, and Skitch to take screenshots and edit them.
