Your IP address is a unique numerical label assigned to your device when it connects to the internet. It is used to identify your device among other devices connected to the same network, and to route the data to and from your device.
There are two types of IP addresses: IPv4 and IPv6. IPv4 addresses are written in the form of four sets of numbers separated by dots, such as 192.168.1.1. IPv6 addresses are written in the form of eight sets of numbers separated by colons, such as 2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334.
